Bronzeville rehab

This neglected multiunit 1890’s building in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood has been converted back into a single-family home with realistic energy-efficient features such as hydronic heat, upgraded windows and doors, a home office/library, and an advanced thermal envelope.

The home has exceeded the requirements for Chicago Green Homes, 3-star designation, receiving over 550 points. More importantly, it has been tested by an independent third-party rater and found to exceed Energy Star standards by nearly 90%.

The project is a unique joint venture between architect, engineer, contractor, and developer on the same team to make an attainable, sustainable home.

Few eco-bells & whistles here… just straightforward design and solid construction.
