Living Machines
August 10, 2005
Living Machines are biological wastewater treatment systems that work on the basis of ecological succession by using microorganisms, small invertebrates such as snails, and plants to produce a clean effluent (or runoff) useful for irrigation or even potable (drinkable) water supply.
Though developed by a company, Dharma Living Systems, the Living Machines concept may be found at work every day in your local wetlands.
If there are any left, that is.
