Chicago rocks

Archer Prewitt, Andrew Bird left to right: Archer Prewitt (and band), Andrew Bird with Kevin O’ Donnell on percussion

Two of Chicago’s Renaissance men took to the stage at an April 15 Metro show to support recent or new releases.

Comic strip artist/guitarist/vocalist Archer Prewitt’s ‘Wilderness’
evokes the 70’s singer-songwriters era. I swear I can even hear Roger Waters in there somewhere… in a good way, that is.

A few short of a full Bowl of Fire, violinist/guitarist/vocalist/glockenspiel-ist Andrew Bird’s latest is ‘The Mysterious Production of Eggs’, and was recorded and scrapped three times before making the final cut. Bird was mesmerizing as he set up loops on the fly with violin then accompanied himself on guitar while singing or whistling, punctuated by flourishes of glockenspiel and supported by friend and percussionist Kevin O’ Donnell‘Donnell’sQualitySix.html.

Chicago never sounded so good. Thanks, guys.
